̨ʹٷվ’s cross country kicks off season at Skippers Invitational

̨ʹٷվ’s cross country runners had their first race of the season at the Skippers Invitational in Goodell, Mich., on Aug. 30.

Annette Fare led the women’s squad, placing 9thoverall with a personal best time of 21:32. She was followed by Carman Jones, Hannah Reed, Alyssa Unger, Kelsey Antcliff, Grace Riley and Victoria Yonker.

In the men’s race, Ryan Hardy finished 23rd overall in a time of 29:59. He was followed by Keegan Shafer, Brayden Clark, Cole Halfman, Andrew Badder, Jack Snyder and Mason Dunn.

“This was a great start to our season. It was hot and muggy, but our runners did an excellent job battling through that,” Coach Kevin Sweeney said.

Overall, the men's team placed 11 out of 16 teams and the women’s team placed 11 out of 12 teams.

The next race for the Centurions is the Ray Helsing Invitational at Ferris State University, on Saturday, Sept. 7.
